Flowers
Simplicity
Old fashioned negatives in bright white hold;
Categorised with their flowery kin.
Their simplicity a beauty untold.
Hopeful colours jumping out from the cold,
Fall gently over tired, life stained skin.
Old fashioned negatives in bright white hold.
Petals of blue, pink and yellowy gold;
Life giving arched stems, rising tall and thin.
Their simplicity a beauty untold.
Micro details documenting each fold;
A close up view of where life did begin.
Old fashioned negatives in bright white hold.
The statuesque leafless stems standing bold,
Their leaves shed, like the young littering sin.
Their simplicity a beauty untold.
Never able to fit into a mould;
Each new flower unique, never a twin.
Old fashioned negatives in bright white hold.
Their simplicity a beauty untold.

Colour
Colour spills
from it's petals
staining fingertips
with beauty
the colour fades
as the flower dies
but the light
it brought
to my eyes
remains

Noel McLaughlinNoel McLaughlin grew up in Wollongong on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia. A passion for photography was kindled at an early age: He received a Pentax tomato red camera from his parents when he was seven and setup his own darkroom under the house whilst at high school.
Noel studied Photography and Graphic Design in Sydney and Upstate New York. He then went on to work as a freelance assistant in Sydney working with a diverse range of photographers including advertising, car, fashion, editorial, food, celebrity and still life.
After a move to London in 2004 he continued his photography career as a Digital Technician and On-Set Retoucher, working along side some of the most eminent advertising, portrait and fashion photographers in the United Kingdom and United States. Noel has travelled extensively shooting personal projects in countries such as Alaska, Morocco, Australia, The United States and Sri Lanka. www.noelmc.com |
Anthony HettAnthony Hett is an emerging writer with a face younger than his years and an ever increasing CV.
Having already performed at several highly prestigious venues including the Guildhall, Westminster Hall and Senate House - as well as Spoken Word evenings throughout England & Wales - Anthony fancies himself as a punk rock poet and Hollywood screenwriter... but you can't always get what you want. Instead he writes from the heart, about his own experiences and the social issues that crawl around beneath his skin. Including: overheard conversations on the tube and his work with children suffering from emotional and behavioral difficulties. www.anthonyhett.co.uk |
